What arrives:
Inside the kraft box, in order:
A flat sheet of 2mm powder-coated steel, wrapped in a natural cotton dust bag.
One manifesto and certificate card.
One pair of 100% raw cotton gloves.
One neodymium magnet.
One wall-fixing kit (screws and rawl plugs, matched to your wall type).
Nothing else.

Step 1 — Read first.
The manifesto card is on top for a reason. Read it before you begin. Not for legal reasons. Because the first fold you make on this steel will be permanent. We want you to be in the right frame of mind for a permanent decision.
Step 2 — Put on the gloves.
Not because the edges are sharp (they are deburred at the factory). Because powder coat holds fingerprints, and your first marks on this object should be intentional ones.
Step 3 — Lay the sheet flat.
The laser perforation lines are visible. They run parallel to the shorter edges. You will fold along these lines — the perforations create a controlled weakness at exactly the right depth, so the fold follows the line rather than the path of least resistance.
Step 4 — Fold.
Apply even pressure along the fold line. Use the edge of a table as a straight guide if you prefer. The steel will resist, then yield. You will feel the resistance curve change — a slight increase, then a release — as the fold passes through 90 degrees.
Apply the second fold if applicable. Both wings should be at 90 degrees to the shelf face.
Step 5 — Lock.
Press the locking tab into its slot. You will hear a click. You will feel the geometry capture. The asymmetric barb profile means the tab can enter but cannot exit without deliberate reverse pressure. The shelf is now structurally complete.
Step 6 — Sign it.
Press the locking tab into its slot. You will hear a click. You will feel the geometry capture. The asymmetric barb profile means the tab can enter but cannot exit without deliberate reverse pressure. The shelf is now structurally complete.
Step 7 — Mount.
Standard wall-fixing. Two screws, matching rawl plugs. The mounting holes are pre-drilled and deburred. A spirit level and a pencil are the only tools you need that we haven't provided.
